Bro Shinkokai, when Teksit or Tepsit (I can't spell his name) was the owner of that Dainichi Kohaku, it didn't win the AJKS, but when he sold it to a Japs, he won the AJKS GC.........humm! sometimes I wonder, or could it be a coincidence.

Theoretically yes. But in reality it may be difficult unless the specimen is exceptional.

If you refer to the winners of Best in Variety on Mark Gardner's Website Niigata Nishikigoi www.niigata-nishikigoi.com/node/320 , you will see that a lot of the Best in Variety winners were the biggest fishes in the shows, but not all.

In that show, a kohaku won Grand Champion, so by default it should be the best in Variety for Kohaku. However, if you look at the Hikarimuji, Hikarimoyo, Goshiki, Kawarigoi, Ginrin B, Hikari Utsuri, Kujaku, and Kumonryu winners, they are of smaller categories.

It will be up to the judges to decide which fish in each classification is the Best of its own Variety at the show.

    Fellow Koi Hobbyist,

Running a koi show is never easy and we need all the help we can to make this event a success. As with any koi shows, volunteers are essential to get the show going smoothly. We hope to get support from fellow koi kichis to help us during the show this January. Please list your interest to assist us for the show.

Lets make this event a success and to learn from the breeders. We thank you in advance.

    Brudder Denn,

Says who youm got nothing to show!!

    Tancho Showa???
Throw away the rest of your collection, Focus and fatten him up and submit show application.

The rest is up to the fish himself....
Unless you are afraid that someone may "kidnap" him during the show???

Bro, actually the guide was for the number of fishes ranging for those sizes,

i.e. you could choose to have 2 nos 70bu and above fishes, OR, 4 nos 40bu to 70bu fishes OR 6 nos below 40bu.

    6 Tancho
Tancho Kohaku, Tancho Sanke, Tancho Showa, Doitsu Tancho, including Ginrin
    Tancho
    7 Hikari
Doitsu, Yamabuki, Purachina, Kin Matsuba, Gin Matsuba, Ginginrin Hariwake,
Hariwake Matsuba, Yamatonishiki, Kujaku, Gin Shiro Bekko, Sakura Ogon,
Platinum Kohaku, Kikusui, Ginsui, Shockhikubai, Kin Showa, Kin Ki Utsuri, Ginshiro,
    Kin Hi Utsuri

    Q. on 6. Tancho
Will tancho kujaku , tancho goshiki & tancho ochiba be include in the tancho class?
If yes, will suggest :ALL Tancho including ALL Ginrin Tancho.
    Q.on 7. Hikari
Doitsu ( ?)not a type of koi but term use for mirror koi.
Ginginrin Hariwake =Kinginrin Hariwake? If it is ginrin a koi, then should be under the Kin-Gin-Rin class.(except ginrin tancho)

Just some suggestion to avoid confuse...........

    Thanks Bro,

Good suggestion on Tancho. Will incorporate it in.

The other definition under Hikari is one which has been practised before. But your points are taken and will be discussed further to improve. Many thanks! :)

    Dear Koi Kichis,

There will be an addition of a 'Super Baby Champion' category whereby the Kokugyo Winners of 12bu, 15bu and 20bu will be considered for this 'Super Baby Champion' prize.

As such the 'Baby Champion' will be selected from Kokugyo winners from 25bu, 30bu and 35bu. This will ensure a more level playing field amongst the smallest 3 sizes.

We wish everyone happy koi hunting and look forward to your entries into the 1st Shinkokai Malaysia Koi Show.

Hi, May organizer consider re-schedule the departure time from 9am to 10am at the respective station on 7 Jan 2011? 9am may not be ideal because of the traffic jam at LDP and Cheras area. I believed many may not be able to make it on time.

    Bro Sam,
Do you think it is OK if we are to come up with the list here i.e. in terms of the tanks we want to book? Also we will indicate who we would like to book the tanks from and whether we will be sending our fishes through them. What do you think? If it is OK, I will start the list here........
    Waiting for your green light.......
