I wish I would've NEVER planted four-leaf clover, but I did and now it's taking over. I can't pull it because it's stems and roots are so delicate and fine. Any ideas that would be safe around my koi?

Hi, I assume you are talking about aquatic 4-leaf clover. Yeah they grow really really really fast and really overtakes the pond.

Just keep pulling the leaves. You will notice when you keep removing them, the stem and root mass will get weaker. The plant needs photosynthesis which is a function of the leaves, by which leaf manufactures food material in the presence of sunlight and green pigment- chlorophyll present in the leaf.

Eventually, the root mass dies from starvation when the leaves are removed all the time.

    Good luck!
