Isa Showa and Sakai Showa 1 month update

    Dear koi kichis,

    A month ago i posted my 1st step into Nishikigoi acquisition. They were 2 showas one from Isa and another from Sakai. Here were the acquisition photos

    Just got back last nite, and this am routine monthly filter clean. So toook opportunity to inspect Showas and also some pics. There are some massive changes especially on the Sakai, with the whiter head. Here's an update pic. Pls help me understand why these changes are occuring and if they are in the right direction. Tq

    Looks like the sumi is consolidating? I face similar situation with some of my kois. Waiting for sifus inputs as I would like to learn too :) good looking showas!

    Thanks bro Kevin and TK. Yes indeed this is really a twist for me. Maybe it is my water that's not too good for sumi.....I also dunno la.......what will happen to this Showa......did my hard earn money just go down the drain??? Confused.......

    bro, u dont have to worry about sumi in showa, it seems they will appear again

    Bro Newbie, thanks for the comforting words on sumi. I'm really new to all this and really like to understand why this happens apart from water and stress. How to manage water better to manage sumi? Thanks for the compliments on tosais too!

    Have u tried clay from bro lauts..all testimonial from hobbyist seems to have better improvement on sumi

    I once heard about some tips of putting clay bricks in the bakki shower to improve sumi.
