    Bro Yap,
The Sanke will definitely be one of the GC Contender for sure? Excellent body and nice Sumi placement. The Beni patches are evenly colored. I can't really fault this fish. If you can get rid of the secondary Hi on the left pectoral fin, then there will not be any minus at all. Hope that the sheen will be at the fullest on the judging day...............

I surely hope that you will put this Sanke in the Show........

    Bro Yap,
Easy only la.............get the net, then sock net, and before you know it, the koi is already in the plastic bag. Only 62 cm maaa! If it is 80 - 100 cm, then I understand la............

The chiller, with salt and finish off with refresh powder will do it for you i.e. the shirogi....... :-D

    Bro Megatron,
The gold fish also very very costly,GC candidates easily cost RM 15 to 20k too bro....just the space is not that much and gold fish life span is short and sensitive not easy at all compare to kois haha

    Bro Yap,

All hobby costly, sideview goldfish is not that high price, but topview ranchu can cost an arm and leg too. TVR and other topview GF like tosakin mostly breed by Japanese, but Thailand breed quality may also compete in show. Sideview variety mostly breed in China.
15k - 20k consider cheap spend for GC compare to koi,but if compare by size, is more expensive than koi :)

Herea sample of RTV from recent Japan Show

    Bro Harry,

It is true that every hobby is costly, really have no knowledge for gold fish :),i think mostly they go to china together with the dealer to choose..but one thing how far or how good we want to be in the hobby it is all depend on our own pocket haha really cant do something that beyond our pocket and suffer later hahaha

    Bro Yap,

Most China rarely cost too expensive, and yes hobby is something. Here some humour i found on FB, really funny.

A man had 50 yard line tickets for the Super Bowl. As he sits down, a man
comes down and asked him if anyone was sitting in the seat next to him.
"No", he said, "the seat is empty."
"This is incredible", said the man. "Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl , the biggest sporting event in the world, and not use it ?"
Somberly, the man says, "Well... the seat actually belongs to me. I was supposed to come here with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super Bowl we have not been together since we got married in 1967."
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find someone
else - a friend or relative or even a neighbor to take the seat?"
The man shakes his head, looks up and says: "No. They're all at the funeral

    Bro Shukri,
Yes ,you can do it with good lady luck:),but the lady luck not with me for the last six years, tries 40 to 50 pcs of nisai with RM 10k to RM 20 k each, come out nothing hahaha, maybe one day we go with 2 ponds, one pond with real good quality kois, the other with the kois that we are buying for dreams hahahaha, the swan for every hobbyist will be differ too :) ,one will aim for GC as ultimate target, one will aim baby champion as ultimate target...so......susahlah bang......haha
    Bro Harry,
You are the one that really got plenty of knowledge for fishes, kois, gold fish, marine fish, guppies wat a man here hahaha, somemore a real humour guys........

Bro Yap, you're too kind. But there are plenty of sifus with more serious kois, and also many new lucky owners who are guided by sifus. My collection so-so only compared to many...

I never intend to break any record with quantity. I am a quality kind of guy, not that my koi quality is very good. Just saying I do not intend to break the 57 or 51 trophy record. But collectively over the last year I do have more than that... :-)) Still I haven't got any Champion prizes yet. Many bros got and are shorter in the hobby than me. So real sifu are these hidden kichis...

To me, the measurement isn't the Trophies or how many good kois I have. The real test is in buying average or slightly above average kois and develop them into champions. This is my ultimate goal....... Different people have different goals.

As we can see, buying expensive kois also will not guarantee champions, but definitely gives us higher probability to be there.......

I love to participate in GOs, as this will sharpen my selection skills as well as the husbandary skills. I would like to be in the ranks of Sifu GO specialists in the like of Bro Daniel Lee, Bro Thiamhwa and the others.......hopefully I can be there one day.

    :-D

    Bro Yap,

I had been dealing with many freshwater fishes from african cichlid to south american fishes, including many wild caught fish from Indonesia, aquascaping, rare and exotic fishes and many more. I stopped importing and exporting tropical fishes few years due to our gov regulation lack of supports. I was importing many invertebrate and turtles too.

For competition, many factors involve, not only if you have a good fish then guarantee you win a competition. We have see many times, good koi condition drop during show and not performing. I will soon share my secret weapon on how to condition water during show, and water treatment i used.

    Bro Yap,

Only know by name, his M Legend now is Sakai new oyagoi. I have know many collectors due to this hobby and my other hobbyist (bonsai, suiseki, etc).

To improve shiroji usually start a few week before show, and to get rid old slime. Many have different treatment like a salt or pp. Actually any medication will get rid of your fish slime. And reducing the temp will polished it again while also maintain its bodyshape not to drop. My treatment is mostly to the water at showground. In koi, most judging is only for the koi, rarely judge how the fish swim. But by looking at the body shape, i think many judge already can guess. While in GF competition, fish swimming is also taking into judging criteria. And when ur fish get stress, it won't swim.

The most dangerous thing is ammonia. Don't ever think that fasting ur koi a few week, you will get free ammonia in bag/canvas tank. Fish respiration and urine also produce a lot of ammonia, and it is stressing. I will release a product that i use for a long time for shipping to USA or Europe which can take more than 48hours. And this is very useful during show or fish shipment.
    Regards,

    Harry Luhur
