How many pineapples for new pond?

    Dear brothers,

Setting up my 5 ton new FGT pond that is painted with epoxy.

Read from a few threads that it is good to cleanse the pond before putting in test fishes with the use of pineapples.

Is this really necessary as was told by contractor he has never done so for any pond he built.

If I were to run the pond in for 3 days, how many pineapples should I cut and throw in?

    Appreciate your comments.

    Cheers.

There is no need for pineapples.
Just run the FGT for about 10-15 days.
Flush out the whole tank of water and rinse it thoroughly before adding new water.
Run it for a week or 2.
    Add test fishes in.
    Once ok, green light!

Bro kutekoi...u can use vinegar as an option..I think 15 liter should be fine...5-6 days you can flush and fill up new water...throw some expandable fish for 2 days, if ok u can put ur kois..

Thanks bros spencertan and idris for your prompt advice.

Contractor wanted to add test fish after 3 days of running in.... hmmm.

Should I put in all the filter materials (including bio rings) during this run-period or wait till the old water is flushed away?

    Cheers.
