Following many brothers here, just share some of my collection. Male but pondan body. Shinkokai material or not? But Gosanke competition is tough.

    Bro Elmen,

Very impressive - whether female or pondan. Do the pondan chase after your female or they only play among themselves? :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P. I think you have come a long way in keeping your water in tip top condition.. Keep up the good job!!!

I am flattered by all your comments. These pieces are no way near show standards. The standard is really here these days especially for the gosanke categories. I learned a lot from the sifus in the community, this is the reason why forum like this must be alive.

Ben, here is the Ochiba you are asking for...

    Bro Elmen,

My vote goes to the Sakai Sanke and Kohaku. I am not really a Sanke person but this Sanke is an exception due to the clean sumi and hi plate. The Kohaku is also in excellent condition, very hard to find sharp kiwa especially on ippon hi kohaku where the kiwa runs vertical - have one inazuma kohaku and the side kiwa is really messy.

Actually I also like the two ginrin, i.e. sanke and ochiba - you have a strong contenders Bro.

Very nice koi elmen. I think its quite clear that male does not necessarily mean small and puny. Your koi have great body shape and nice bulk. But as you have also mentioned before - how BIG will they eventually grow, that is the final question.

Bro Kaaj, I find that when a male koi grows beyond 60cm it tends to loose its bulk. So I really hope that the male NOT grow any more length-wise. But it's hard because they are in the same pond as the females.

Bro Daniel, I don't notice the males chasing the females. Maybe I don't spend enough time with them to see that.

Thank you all, I actually learn a lot from all of you here and also from some who are not here (yet). We have to keep this community going for as long as possible man.

I am a big showa fan, and your ISAWA is really lovely, even if some discoloration. Did it loose some scales early on? People say only 20% is for the pattern - but seriously, i think pattern is the first thing that catches the eye lah.

The deficiency of the hiban at the shoulder area is from birth. I already noticed that when it was a tosai, was hoping that it will improve. I am not sure it will, the other option is to cut and open a white area there.

Kaaj, I am a die hard for pattern no matter what the show rules book says.

Bro Elmen, I share your sentiment. I would rather have a nice to look at koi than a big koi which I do not pay attention to. Of course the ultimate is a combination of both.

I do hope in the years to come i am able to accumulate some jumbo eye candy :)

Bro Elmen, similar observation on my part, in my case the koi loses his bulk after 55 cm. Before that, the body shape is quite similar with female. This is my shiro who is now 60 cm - one of the biggest eaters in the pond but will not grow sideways.

    Regards.

    Bros Elmen and Kaaj,
Between a nice looking woman (with pretty face) that is skinny versus an average looking but with a 362236, I would prefer the later. I am a body conformatio guy......of course it is a matter of choice. But if you have a pretty face, fair skin with a gorgeous body, well that is definitely a Show winner......... :)
