We need to know the readings on ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte. If you do not have the kits get them, they are needed to monitor your water and keep it save for your fish. In the mean time do a 75% water change (dechlorinate). Every sickness in fish (unless introdused by not quarenteening new arraivals) are due to their environment (water condition). HTH 10653

I need you to go to the following web site and give me as much info on your tank as you possibly can. I have a list of questions I need you to answer for me before I can give you and ideas on what meds to use on what fish. Some fish don't like one kind of med while others do fine. Just like people, you can't give everone asperin. Some you need to give tylonal to so they don't have a reaction to the asperin. It's the same pricipal with fish. The web site is www.aquamaniacs.net once there got to the message board. Then you will go to the "Help, Emergency" forum. At the top of that page is a list of questions that I need you to answer for me. By answering these questions you will help me give your fish the meds they need with out hurting them unles they are too far gone already. (I seriously doubt they are, there is a VERY good chance we can save your fish.) Go to that website and I'll meet you there with the info you need. Rose www.aquamaniacs.net 10715

When you use products that chemically remove toxins, like Nitrasorb, the bacteria that use that toxin as a food source aren't going to reproduce. That's why you can't get your nitrites down. Stop using the Nitrasorb, test for nitrites daily, and start doing daily water changes to dilute the toxicity of your water, and hopefully your fish won't die. 10638

Sure they are small now, but you will need a much much much larger tank soon. A 100 gallon minimum! The puffer will get 5-6" also, so you'll need a larger tank for him too. 25 gallons should be sufficient. Those are all messy fish, no wonder your nitrites are up high. My advice is to return the sharks, that will GREATLY help your nitrite levels. 10631
