Wardley Tubifex Worms

Wardley Tubifex Worms

Post by: Fish Woman on October 09, 2005, 10:11:27 PM
We are always out on the look out for a variety of fish food. We purchased Wardley Tubifex Worms from two different LFS. And tried it out on 17 of our 19 tanks. All fins down. Not one single fish not even the Pacus (which are our Mikey fish) would eat them. So back to the 2 LFS they went. So we have to say BOOOOOO on the Wardley Tubifex Worm Cubes. They don't stick to the aquarium walls well and none of our fish (we have at least 200+) would eat them.

not to mention being rather pricey in some areas.

Gotta agree. After three failed attempts in five tanks, I threw 'em out.

I have omega one tubeworms and my guppys love em but no other fish seem interested in them for some reason. so i think it just depends on what kind of fish you have

Even our Apple Snails wouldn't eat them.

I threw mine out too. Only my guppies nibbled at them and the cories didn't even touch them. The cubes made a HUGE mess out of my tanks. I was siphoning them out for weeks! They didn't even stick to the tank wall like they were supposed to. A big big big thumbs down.

Comment : All my fish love these things, the goldfish are the only ones that get a whole cube, but I break smaller pieces off for my guppies and white clouds, and they seem to enjoy them.

Comment : My fish love these tubifex worms. They live in a small pond and as soon as they feel the vibration from my walking they are all at the edge of the pond waiting to be feed. Since these worms are freeze dried. I rehydrate them by placing the worms in a small jar lid with water. I pinch them between my fingers. When they get soft. I can actually put one betwee my finger and place my hands in the water. My fish eat right out of my hand. We have very large Koi, large barbs, small blue and golden guamais, also bottom feeder fish and precosomus. We have large triple tails. They all enjoy the worms the way I rehydrate it along with their other buffet items, flakes, pellets, orange sticks etc. Good Luck.

Comment : I have to disagree. While most of you guys have said is true i found that the best we to feed them the tubi's is by first slicing the cubes then dissolving them in water and lastly sucking them up in a turkey baster type things and slowly releasing them into the water... All my fish fight for a chance to nimble on those little guys..my tetra, dwarf gourami, scissors, pleco, cories, platies, and danios...its take time to prepare but i realized that my fish didn't want some stupid cube but individual wiggly worms/ larva....i also believe that blood worms help to associate the wiggle worms as food
