Comments: I have had this filter for 2 months now and it is truly the best small tank filter I have ever used. It has a flow rate of 20 gallons per hour and filters very quietly. It has great flow for its small size. It uses an air pump to move the water up the lift tube.
It includes filter box, uplift tube, filter cartridge, and airlne tubing with diffuser. It works so good that everytime I clean my gravel there is less gunk than before when I had the Whisper Internal Micro Filter 2-5 in my Mini Bow 2.5 Gallon aquarium with a male Betta in it.
The cartridges are easily replaced once a month or when water flow out of the filter is dramatically reduced. The filter was approximately $9.97 at your local Wal-Mart store and filter cartridges are $2.88 at Wal-Mart.
This filter uses Small Sized Filter Cartridges that come in an economical 2 pack.

Name: bettaluv Comments: I have this filter also... I bought it because it was cheap, but it has so far given me no problems.
Comment : I bought this filter for my Mini-Bow 2.5 and I couldn't get it to stick to the side with the suction cups... It would stay and then about 30 minutes later it would be floating.. I drained the tank and put it on dry and it still floated... I ended up buying the Red Sea Nano Filter and it works great.. I would like to use this filter in my other Mini-Bow though so if you have any suggestions on how to make it stick I would appreciate it.
Comment : I've seen similar ones that don't use an air pump to cycle water that were rated for 10-20 and 20-30 gallon tanks in wal-mart.
I just got the 1-3i for my little 2 gallon tank here, and it works much better than the crappy undergravel filter the tank came with.
Comment : No, the Whisper 2-5 comes with the 2.5 gallon tank. It was too powerful for a betta, so I bought this one. There are variations, but they use a motor instead of bubbles to pump the water. Look on the website for these filters.

Comment : The In-tank filter is the one that comes with the 2.5 gallon tank, right? Are there other variations of this, say for 10-20 gallons?
