Origin: Lake Malawi
 
Temperature: 75 - 80
 
Ease Of Keeping: Moderate
 
Aggressivness: Can be very aggressive
 
Size: Up to 10 inches
 
Tank Size: 125 gallons
 
Food: Feed a good quality flake or pellet.
 
Spawn: Maternal mouth brooder
 
Comments: This is a large Malawian piscavore (fish eater). They can be quite aggressive and shouldn't be kept with smaller fish. While this fish is classed in the genus Nimbochromis it is believed that it may actually be closer related to fish in the genus Tyrannochromis. Males of this fish develope beautiful coloration. The fish pictured is a 7 - 8 inch male.
