cat's AnswersHow many Bettas do you have?Two soon to be three -- four if my boss can find the right red & gold and tail type. How many of you have successfully bred, and if so how often/many times? None. What is your favorite color or pattern or tail? I have a quite a few favorite colors; chocolate, red & gold, white, black, pastel, 'koi head', purple, orange, yellow & blue, etc. So far my favorite tail types are crowntail and cross-ray crowntail. What kinds would you consider hard to find? I've found the ones I like fairly easily, so it's not a question of finding them but a question of price. Do you have pet store bettas or bettas purchased from breeders? My first betta was from Petco, my second that recently passed was from a semi-local aquarium store and my third was from a LFS but he was purchased from a breeder in Thailand. What do you feed your bettas? 2 Hikari Betta Bio-Gold pellets twice a day. Sometimes more if they beg enough. I also starve them once a week in an effort to prevent constipation. What size tanks do you have? What is your favorite color or pattern or tail? red/gold bicolor, either in double-ray crowntail or halfmoon What kinds would you consider hard to find? a really pure true gold, a very high quality opaque, true orange Do you have pet store bettas or bettas purchased from breeders? i have some from chain pet stores, some from independent pet stores, and some from breeders What do you feed your bettas? their staple diet is hikari betta biogold. they also get freezedried bloodworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp, bloodworms in nutritious gel, frozen brine shrimp, and live brine shrimp when i can find it What size tanks do you have? i have a whole bunch of 2.5 gallon, 3 gallon, and 5 gallon tanks for my males, and a 10 gallon shared by my females none of my local stores carry halfmoons, double-ray crowntails, or some of the colors i want, though. But.. it's after the fry have been born and you're on your own. Let me tell you.. those things are delicate! I haven't hit my 2 week mark yet.. but I still have a good half of what I started with. You can't change water for at least two weeks after born so you REALLY gotta watch how you feed. *Crosses fingers for her babies!* they're a week old now.. Sunday will be 2 weeks! What is your favorite color or pattern or tail? My favorite is my fish Sampson. His fins are so unique they like flow like hair.. so long too.. he's so perty! So do breeders.. so it's just cheaper to go buy a $3.50 fish.. instead of a $60.00 and sometimes way more. What do you feed your bettas? I have some pellets that I use and blood worms. What is the hardest part about breeding and raising fry, in your opinion? sorry...I don't know What is your favorite color or pattern or tail? I just like bright colors and energetic bettas. I tend to lean towards blue, but that's because it's my favorite color. LuLu one of my girls has a sky blue lining in her pinkish body and tail. It is very pretty. What kinds would you consider hard to find? I had to go to three different pet stores to find my female bettas. That's hard enough. Females are less common than males it seems.<br> Do you have pet store bettas or bettas purchased from breeders? I bought my bettas at pet smart. I'm with the other guy, I can't afford a $60.00 fish...$60.00 aquarium sure, I'll even spend $60.00 on food, supplies and several fish... What do you feed your bettas? A: None Q: What is your favorite color or pattern or tail? A: Everything! What ever one cathes my eye ;) Q: What kinds would you consider hard to find? A: Plakats and Halfmoons. Q: Do you have pet store bettas or bettas purchased from breeders? A: Pet stores Q: What do you feed your bettas? A: 3 Hikari Betta Bio-Gold pellets twice a day and some brine shrimp once a month. Q: What size tanks do you have? A: I have a 20 gallon sorority where all 8 of my girls live. A divided 10 gallon where three of my boys live. Then I have three one gallon bowls where my other three boys live. I also have room for lots more. :] |

How many Bettas do you have? 1- a male red halfmoon, soon to be 2 bettas when I find just the right female... How many of you have successfully bred, and if so how often/many times? None, hopefully soon when I find just the right female... (lol) and get the pair conditioned. What is your favorite color or pattern or tail? My favorite fin type is halfmoon, some crowntails are ok... among my favorite colors are chocolate, and even though blue is fairly common, that is one of my favorites, whites are pretty, and I also like green What kinds would you consider hard to find? Depends on where you live. Anything other than a veiltail is a rare find around here. lol But you can get pretty much anything you want of the internet, if you want to spend $30+ on one fish. Do you have pet store bettas or bettas purchased from breeders? I've had three bettas in all, my first two (one red veiltail, and one red veiltail) were from lfs, while the halfmoon I have now is from Walmart) What do you feed your bettas? Tropical fish flake food, peas one time a week, live mosquito larvae when available, other wise they get freeze dried food (usually bloodworms) or frozen mosquito larvae. What size tanks do you have? Skynard (my red halfmoon) is currently in a ten gallon, which will be a future breeding tank when I get the other half of a pair. I also have a 2 gallon bowl and I am going to get a few gallon+ sized vases/jars for the fish from my future spawns =D I'm beginning to notice a pattern here. |

A: I can get most kinds but Plakat is the only one I can't get :( And the one that I really want. Q: Do you have pet store bettas or bettas purchased from breeders? A: Pet stores: Big Als, PETsMART, and PetValue Q: What do you feed your bettas? A: 3 Wardley pellets twice a day Q: What size tanks do you have? A: For 3 of my bettas they live in 1 gallon bowls and one of my bettas lives in a 1.5 gallon bowl. But soon I will be moving three of my bettas to a divided 10 gallon and one of them to a 2.5 gallon bowl. Which leaves lost more room for new bettas :p |

How many Bettas do you have? 20; 6 adult and 3 baby females, 4 adult and 5 baby males, and last 2 unknown babies. How many of you have successfully bred, and if so how often/many times? I've successfully bred 4 times, and my dead male and my 1 1/2 year old living female bred about 6 times which cought me off guard and they ate the eggs. But I have two of their spawns now! What is the hardest part about breeding and raising fry, in your opinion? I think it's easy once you've learned the bassics and you get experanced. What is your favorite color or pattern or tail? I really don't have a favorite. I like them all! What kinds would you consider hard to find? Half Moons, for sure. Do you have pet store bettas or bettas purchased from breeders? I currently have bettas from my spawns and fish store parents! I'm going to buy a pair of Superdelta Mustard Gas bettas from a breeder this Sunday/Monday. What do you feed your bettas? I feed them freez dried Bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp and Hikari Betta Bio-Gold pellits. What size tanks do you have? I have 4 2.5 gallons, a 10 gallon and several bowls and vases. |
