Hairgrass got its name from its soft hair like appearance when grown and kept underwater.
Hairgrass is a slow growing plant and is very pretty in the aquarium. It's a low plant that grows to about 15 cm, and is good for fry tanks as some fry can hide In the leaves.
This plant benefits from both fertilization from the substrate and from trace elements from within the water.
