Temperature is important with this plant. It does require warmth.
 
Aquarium Requirements: A beautiful aquarium plant that needs soft, slightly acidic water with a temperature no lower than 24C (75F), and gravel that is completely free of lime. The lance shaped leaves are formed from a rhizome and are green on top and purple on the underside.
 
 
Additional Notes: This is a very desirable plant that has a reputation as being difficult to keep. The secret to success is warmth; it is crucial to keep the temperature above 24C. This plant would be an excellent addition to any Discus tank.
