It was just a chance thing. He and his buddy were standing in line at the porta-johns and this big burly security guard walked up to him, "Hey dude, you wanna be in a music video?" Eric said "Sure, do we have time to go get our girlfriends?" Security guy said no, and walked them backstage passed the green room to a section that had 2 flourescent lights hanging vertical. Photographer said "All right, all we need is expressionless" and he ended up taking 2 pictures, both are back to back in the video. The first eric had his eyes closed, so in the video it looks like he's opening his eyes.
Long time ago he pal'd around with Joey from Rascal Flatts when they were in town. He got to hang out with them when they opened the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln. His ex-wife got a little too "suspicious" (she's bi-polar and refuses to take meds to help it) and deleted every number in his phone that had a girls name or even resembled a girls name. He ran into them working security, I think at Country Stampede in Kansas, and it was a "I know you! I can't place you" from Joey, but eric didn't have time to chit chat off to the side.
