If you did a Betta, I don't recommend snails because they can POOP. Bettas nip at their antennae too. The frogs should do well, or you could get about any fish that's ugly 'cuz bettas are racist against their own kind, or anything pretty fish is doomed. Quarantine tank maybe? Or Endlers livebearers, or shrimp.

Nerites have a very small bio load and they don't have long feelers like apple snails.  They are almost always fine with a betta and help keep the tank clean.

My dad and I both lost our jobs, so, this tank was abandoned months ago. The only thing I bought for it was 2 marimo balls, theyre about to go with a single goldie

Unemployment seriously bites. I don't do well unemployed, and I was unemployed most of 2011. Right now I'm busy working on IT certs, so it doesn't suck as much, at least my mind is busy.
