I'd lean toward an ADF, neither are extremely strong swimmers so food competition would be less than what it often ends up when you mix ADFs with fish. Usually the frog ends up starving or you seriously overfeed the tank and have to do more water changes. Both can be little piggies, but they're slow piggies.
Snails are heavier bioload, at least the bigger ones are. You might want to try a frog only tank and see if you can't breed the little beggars. They're fairly easy to spawn, not so much on successful raising of tads though. So they'd be a bit of a challenge. Leave at least one tank wall unscrubbed for algae for the tads. Sponge filter recommended for infusoria for wee froggies. Unbelievably cute when they still have tails.

I dont think Id want a "designer" tank like this to be a breeding tank, just a nice show tank to go by my bed.
Hmmm, I may just end up having a sole betta in it lol
On another note, those fake plants from the arts and crafts stores - could they go in a tank?
Id think they would be made of generally the same material as the silk plants in the LFS for a fraction of the price.

I have a feeling I was going to ask something else but I cant remember.
Feel free to continue to throw in ideas, also, if you have an idea of anything else to put in this tank besides a betta let me know, yall know how quickly I do tank turn overs lol

Find a saltwater place and then super slow drip acclimatize them. They're the same snails, but for whatever reason, they're cheaper acclimatized full marine. Like you can get 2 or 3 marine for the price of a single freshwater.

Hmmm
Sounds iffy.
Exactly how would I acclimate them to FW?
I know the process but whats a good rule of thumb (how much water to take out and replace with fresh how often)
2 or 3 for the price of 1 is extremely appealing though :)

I dunno where to get them.  I used to get them from some woman named Wilma but I don't have her contact info any more.  You could check on aquabid, and I know there is usually someone at plantedtank.net on the Shop and Swap forum that has them.  I need to stock up on some myself soon.

The slower, the better. Back later to give my method, gotta take Tag to his vet appointment.

Okay drip acclimatization, specifically for adjusting nerites:
1) Get a 5 gallon or larger fish bucket(any plastic bucket or container that has never had soap or other fish-lethal substances in it)
2) Dump the bag w/snails into the empty bucket. Place bucket next to a large, established freshwater tank.(this process is going to use nearly 5 gallons by the time it's finished)
3) Take a length of air hose between 4 and 6 feet long and tie a loose knot in it.
4) Start a siphon from the tank to the bucket and quickly tighten the knot until the siphon is at a slow drip.
5) Secure the hose so that it won't fall out of the tank or have the tank end come out of the water before you're done. I usually just adjust it to where I want it and close the lid gently.
6) Set an egg timer to check the water level. I usually set it for 30 minutes the first time to see how fast the bucket water level rises and go from there. The slower, the better. You want it to take at least 2 to 3 hours for going from salt to fresh, I usually shoot for 4 to 5. Slo-o-o-o-ow drip.

When the bucket is full, net them out and put them in the tank you siphoned from. Dispose of the water in the bucket and refill the tank as you would for a normal water change. Give them a week to adjust there, then bag 'em up for transfer and normal bag acclimatization is usually fine for their long term tank.

For normal drip acclimatization where you don't have to account for a change in salinity or a big pH difference, two or three gallons and an hour or two is usually fine. The egg timer is basically so you don't forget about it since it takes a while. I forgot once, but fortunately caught it before it flooded too badly. :hihi:
