How much burrowing do they do though? Don't they mostly sit in one place unless disturbed? I have zero clam experience other than eating. Is this for your 29 or have you gone bigger?

Well I dunno know if they would work or not - I guess you would know best since you have them, lol.  They might help some tho.

I have thought about getting some myself, but I've read numerous times that if they die and you don't get them out the tank right away they can cause a hella ammonia spike.  Have you found that to be true?  Not sure how you find them if they are buried and dead.

The only dead ones I have found have been on the surface of the substrate, its like they come out of the burrow to die. and since i breed ghost shrimp in the same tank Ive never had an ammonia spike because the shrimp think its a delicacy lol. But youd know if they were dead,  the shell appears up top. If your looking for some check out my post in the trading forum.
