Any plumbers or handymen around?
« on: February 12, 2010, 06:37:48 AM »
We had a disruption in water service yesterday.  The water is back on but my bathroom sink upstairs us now coming out at a trickle.  Everything else seems to have normal pressure but that sink.  The water company says that it's not their problem since the water IS back on.  So what's the deal and what do I do?  Please note that this is an old house built in the 50's and I have no idea about the plumbing.  There's no shut off for the sink that I can see.  The water company mentioned something about a pressure regulator but I have no idea what they're talking about.

Any thoughts?

So what was it? Air in the pipes?

Was it mineral buildup in the pipes for that particular sink? Or perhaps a bad washer moved inside a pipe and blocked water flow. Or maybe the water shutoff valve below the sink.

Great customer service.

Ever notice in the Bible, whenever God needed to punish someone, make an example or needed a killing, he sent an angel? Ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? An existence spent praising your God, but always with 1 wing dipped in blood. Would you really want to see an angel?

Ahhh the problem was a clogged screen in the sink faucet from the sediment and gunk stirred up when they worked on the main.  Took it out and rinsed it and the problem was solved.
