Does anyone know how I can find a diagnostic department in Ontario, or if one exists? I have a friend whose father is very sick and getting rapidly worse. He has seen 20 doctors and no one can tell him what is wrong. From what she explained it seems like a neurological problem, but he has seen a neurologist and still has no answers. He is losing the use of his legs, he has to drag them sometimes when he walks. Then a while ago he was loading a truck and went into a complete full body spasm, and couldn't move. This has been going on since the fall. We fear he may be in a wheel chair within the year. I am very concerned for him, and his daughters are extremely worried, but what is terrifying is no doctor can help him.

I was hoping that maybe someone on here would know how I could go about finding a department or even just a doctor who is willing to help? I would just forward the contact info to my friend and they could make the contact.

What I'm looking for is something like the department off of the show House, but does that really exist in the real world? I've been searching the internet, but no success yet.

Didn't think of that Puff. I actually didn't even know what a Mayo clinic was but I went to the website and they have contact offices in Canada, so I'm giving that information to her.

And thanks for the suggestion MollieLover, I'm going to ask her.

Great ideas guys.

Any other ideas?

Ugh I just feel so bad for them, how terrifying it must be to have such severe, debilitating symptoms and have no answers. :(

Hate to say it, but it sounds like MS. MS can be a real pain to verify, even when they're specifically looking for it.

It does sound like it could be MS or untreated Lyme, but even a general internal medicine practitioner should have known to check for something like that...
