Of course.  I think with the tank at my work which is a 260g the only reason the cichlids have been fine with so many other species is because the size of the tank, don't know what species I have here, have to get some pictures maybe someone here can help identify them so I don't know how aggressive the actual species are either,  I know with 1 type when the owner brought them in there was 3 and the dominant 1 killed off the other 2.  I have since told him NO MORE CICHLIDS IN A COMMUNITY TANK.  There are the goldfish looking barbs, Loaches, tinfoil barb, an angelfish, danios, 2 parrot cichlids and my other 2 that are cichlids but I have no idea what kind.  Back too the Angels and personality though, thats probably why the guy at the petstore told me sometimes 2 females will fight, as though i have found to not always listen to those at petstores....

True. Unfortunately, a lot of pet stores are there strictly to separate you from your money. It can be hard to find good ones sometimes. They're out there though. :cheeky:
I'm lucky, we have two solids, a pretty good and even good peeps at a couple of chain stores here in Spokane.

I know of 2 here on Long Island in NY but for me they are a drive, both mom and pop shops, I still get there when I can.  The 1 is where I just got my Blue Angel Last Thursday, she is just BEAUTIFUL, the ones closer are Petland and Petco.  Right now Petland has a great husband/wife team running the show but over the years I've learned it never lasts and Petco....yea, not so much.....
