Congrats! He is definitely worth it.

Maybe he's not flaring because he's too cool & too handsome for that kind of thing. Lol

Ever notice in the Bible, whenever God needed to punish someone, make an example or needed a killing, he sent an angel? Ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? An existence spent praising your God, but always with 1 wing dipped in blood. Would you really want to see an angel?

I wonder about him a little.  He doesn't respond to the other male next door or to his own reflection, nor does he seem to get any more active when I move around in front of his tank.  With the other two bettas, any time I move near my desk, they get all interested (probably figuring it's food time!).  This guy just ignores me.  He swims around normally but just seems to take no interest in anything outside his tank.

At first I wondered if he might have vision issues, but he shot right over to the weekly bloodworms and gobbled 'em down as soon as they hit the water.  My next thought was that his water might not be warm enough.  His is the first tank I've put one of those little non-adjustable Tetra heaters in and I thought maybe it wasn't working right, but the thermometer reads around 76-78'ish.

I'm not sure whether he's just a very passive betta (if such a thing exists), is still settling in to his new home, or if something is amiss.

Could be that he's ultra mellow. I had one(count him, one) male that was so mellow he was fine with guppies. He lived with guppies and a mystery snail for about 3 years.

Congrats!

I also find that some bettas get a little bored with other bettas after being next to so many in little tiny cups that it can take awhile for them to be excited enough to even flare.

He's very handsome!

Looks like passiveness was just him settling in for a few days.  He now reacts to his own reflection big time.  When I was cleaning Charlie, the other male's, tank I had him in the little temporary tank in front of the new guy and they really got into a major flare-fest.

I still need to think of a good name for the new fella, too.
