I'd get that snail out of there - if there's a population explosion of them it could really mess things up in such a small amount of water.  And they WILL multiply!

How much water is in there anyhow?

Will shrimp need added aeration?

Nice job!

Great idea and execution! I bet those shrim feel right at home in there. :)

thanks. they seem to be happy. theyre molting and coloring up nicely.

Just got two endlers for my 2 gal jar.  So far they've eaten every bit of flake food so when I do add shrimp do I have to overfeed them so the shrimp can get some?  I'm going to wait a while before I add the shrimp.

i have no idea. i guess that would make sense. or just feed them shrimp specific food after you feed the endlers.

like i said earlier. if i end up with more snails, it wont be hard for me to manually take care of it. i have a buncg of tiny aquascaping tools, so i can just pick them out by hand. (or by tweezers anyway)

the tank is only a fraction of a gallon. i wouldnt even be able to venture a guess. someything like 0.1-0.2g

the shrimp do not need an aerator, if thats what you mean. the tank holds enough dissolved oxygen  for them between WC. also, the plants add oxygen and provide biological filtration between WC.

this is so cool.  My bf just said no to the nano cube.  I have tons of glass jars around, he'd better change his mind or watch out.  by next week I could have jars all over the house!

*** 1/20 ***

the java moss has all but completely taken over most of the tank. looks like i may have to trim it soon.
but the shrimp are happy and healthy.

Hi,
Love the setup and I have  2.25 gallon bubble gum jar that I wanna setup on our dinning room table. but I was wondering, Can you mix Ghost shrimp and RCS in the same tank ?

Thanks,
