Black Friday

So anyone score any good deals?

Or possibly be tramautized by the whole ordeal?

Ever notice in the Bible, whenever God needed to punish someone, make an example or needed a killing, he sent an angel? Ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? An existence spent praising your God, but always with 1 wing dipped in blood. Would you really want to see an angel?

I stocked up on all libations and staples on Wed.  No way was I venturing out to the stores.  My brother and I used to shop on Christmas Eve and on Black Friday.  That was a loooong time ago.  I'd break a hip for sure these days.  :P

I get injured too quickly and heal too slowly these days. Nope, did not venture until Black Friday was almost over. And that was for work.

I thought I did pretty good at Kohls....

My best item was a knife set... Cuisinart set regular $129.99, on sale for $79.99....  I also had a 15% off coupon, and there is also a $40 rebate.. so final cost (after I get the rebate back) will be around $28.

My total bill at Kohls....  approximately $132 (knife set, another kitchen item, robe, sweater, toddler pj set) ....  I will get back $50 in rebates.... AND I got $20 in "Kohl's Cash" to spend next week...  and I also got another $5 coupon (gave them my e-mail address), and got another 15% discount card for Dec 3-5..... just when I will be spending the $25 I have in coupons/Kohl's cash.

So......  if I spend about another $30 at Kohls this week, I'll get 15% off ($4.50), and use the $25, so the items will cost just a couple of dollars..

So....  How much total will I have spent?  (taking off the $50 in rebates I'll get back) .....  $75-80 for all of that?  I don't know yet what I'm buying this week, I'll have to look at my Christmas lists....

Getting bargains like that really does help my very tight Christmas budget this year!

Lenovo T400. My laptop's screen died (it's only 5-6 years old). Between that, the DVD drive going, the card reader never working, and somewhat intermittent USB ports, I finally decided to replace mine. It was on sale (-$420ish), then another 15% off. Came down to $1,060 plus about $90 tax. Can't say it was cheap, but it had everything my rather picky technology demands required.

I do not shop on black friday. That is christmas light day for the hubby and plus since people died last year on black friday I am to nervous to deal with a mob size of people pushing into stores. It also doesnt help that I am currently in germany and the only place that does a black friday is the PX and it stinks. thats just another reason not to bother.

Did you get your lights up, Snap?  I did mine last weekend, and then did some yesterday and I'm still not finished.  My buns hurt from climbing on and off the ladder. :P

Hmm.. I went after midnight to the outlets.. which was packed. The parking lots were full and then blocked off, so you had to park around the area.. gas stations, small convenience stores, etc. It wasn't worth it at all; no good deals. The Coach store had an insane line (like 100 people), but I don't shop there anyway...

Got home around 3, went back out again around 7:30 to the mall closest to me.. spent like two hours in JCPenneys. :) That was the first store that actually had good sales, picked up a couple of things. Hit a few stores after that, but didn't buy much...

Went home & back out again in the evening to check out Kohls & Old Navy... Old Navy had some nice deals on shirts and stuff.

Haven't started shopping yet. I've been repeatedly putting it off.
Every year I'm either done the very 1st week of December or running around moronically on Dec. 24th. I think I better get my running shoes ready. *sigh* I'm starting to hate Christmas.
