Will this issue affect their color?

I want to keep guppies and don't want any trouble with fry overcrowding the whole aquarium. Can I just keep the male guppies and not the females?   I heard male colors are more intense when there are females around.

Ive kept just males and they looked wonderful.
I also fed them the "colour enhancing" betta bits
so that could have helped... I just mixed it into the flake food when I ground it up.

I'm not sure if it will affect their color or not. The only way you would probably know for sure was to do some testing. However I think the male guppies will be plenty colorful for your tank as long as you provide them with clean water and good nutrition.

Agreed, coloration seems to be more affected by diet and water quality rather than the presence of females. Decapped brine shrimp, and good flake foods seem to do it for my guppies.

I feed SERA color enhancing flakes, live brineshrimp, algae wafers and frozen bloodworms. The reason I don't use live tubifex is that I read an article on they were collected mostly in polluted rivers and may transmit bacteria to my tanks. I think the diet of my fish is nutritious enough so yup not going to get any females.

I keep male guppies and male endlers as well - no females - and they do fine and look great.

i had a male in my tank and i brought some females from my cusion n his colour seem to brighten up and also i got a male with a blue tale with a few colours that were darker and thay brightend up and thay didnt have a light in my tank  :up:
