If you keep them where you see them all the time they are so enjoyable.
I think that's part of the problem... my husband kind of tricked me into putting them all into one room when we moved a few years ago "You can use this as your very own office/fish room!". I didn't realize until later that he just wanted them out of the living room. I don't spend much time in that room anymore since I'm not on the computer much at home.
Chols - aren't they mostly nocturnal? I actually probably enjoy my cichlid tank most as it's the only tank in the living room.
I only have 4 tanks right now... 2.5g Betta, 20g Endler/Shrimp, 20g dwarf puffers & BN, 55g cichlids & BN. Out of those the most work is the 20g endler/shrimp tank because I'm always sucking up those tiny, tiny baby shrimp during water changes. I just can't bring myself to throw them out so I use my old syphon and buckets, all of my other tanks drain out into the front yard. I then pick the babies out of the water buckets with a baster and flashlight.... I know, I know... I'm crazy. My husband fights my attempts to do or add anything fish related, so I'm stalled with no hope of growth. He can be a real jerk about it sometimes.
