I love the third to last, looks like it's glowing. The one with the clown staring right at the camera is pretty sweet too. Nice pictures.

^Hair algae, lol. A lot of people hate it but I think it looks pretty nice as long as I keep it cut back. For some reason it only shows up in that one spot.

I gotta say, the only reason the clown pictures are good is because of the camera I was using. I was using a D60 instead of my 6 year old point and shoot. I took around 350 pictures and those were the only ones I really liked, haha.

Anywho, thanks for the comments guys!

So do you guys think it would be a bad idea to completely drain my tank and put all of the contents in a Rubbermaid tub for a few weeks so I could skin the stand and drill the tank? I know its been done, and I only have one fish so I'm not to worried about losing live stock.

Yeah it is possible, the main problem I see is causing stress to the inhabitants. Use enough light to support the corals along with a heater, powerheads, skimmer, etc. Frequently test water parameters and do water changes as needed. Transfer the live rock as quickly as possible to minimize time out of the water. Keep feeding to a minimum.

How much water does the rubbermaid tub hold?

^not really sure, I'm gonna go shopping for them. I know you can get them up to like 60 gallons, which is bigger than my tank.

I really want to do a few things assuming I CAN do them...

-drill sump to run return pump externally.
-drill tank to run plumbing through it instead of using that stupid overflow box that floods my room every month.
-skin the tank, build hood, make it pretty.
-finish the internals of the stand so water cant leak through. the sump is a mess & I cant really clean it up because of the way its situated.
-re work plumbing to make water changes easier.
-Build a little Quarantine/top off/SW mixing stand next to the tank.
-frag tank?

The problem I have with the tank is it requires to much "work" and I cant really do all of it because I'm so busy. I just want to make it a bit easier to do water changes, and I want to fix some problems that I didn't address when I was originally building the tank. (It floods... A lot...)

here's what I'm thinking for the overflow, Its based on This. I just figured I would put the overflow on the outside of the tank to save real estate inside it. The only problem is I don't know how to reinforce the thing, and I feel like the coast to coast overflow in the back might be to big. Maybe I could divide it into thirds or something. I could put the bulkheads right on the back but that would mean an internal overflow box.

I still don't really know if its worth it, I feel like I should be buying corals and stuff, but at the same time there are some pretty BIG issues I am having with the tank that aren't really "quick fixes."

I got a new toy in the mail today... Its a GoPro Camera. Designed for skiing, biking, and surfing, its waterproof to 100 feet. I figured I would put it in the fish tank to test it out, lol.  ::)
