I heard hat at a certain point you will be able to seperate male fry from female fry. What are some of the early signs of gender?

Well, obviously when the male start sprouting more finnage. Also, at some point you will be able to see the egg case of female babies.

Males are often more aggressive

So unless you have a aggressive females,
The ones that are chasing the others and flaring are usually males
