I only used 1 brick for the 75 so far.  It covered the bottom nicely, but after I get rockwork in I'll add more.  My dad is a big fern freak, so I'll probably be able to swipe some from him.   they're not native of Florida, but they're pretty and I know if I have extra I can throw them outside and they can take the winter!  Or i'll steal your extras...mmwuhahahahaha.

hmmm, now I've got to re-think my water feature. For some reason I thought that since it was made for cooking, it wouldn't rust, but that just doesn't make any sence, so I'm just crazy.  I've got enough spare tanks laying aorund my basement to use one for that, but they're all kind-of tall.  And if I did the divider I'd have to take the eco earth out to silicone it in, and I just don't see me being THAT ambitious!  Maybe what I'll do is move the little frogs from the 2.5 glass tank into the 2.5 mini bow, which is taller, and use the little glass tank as the water feature.  Then I could shove it against the front glass and see the frogs in the water too, as you were suggesting a few posts ago.

my little tadpole grew arms overnight the other night, and was up on the driftwood today.  I placed him in the water dish in the 2.5 glass tank with the other frog, and he seems to like that much better (I think the cover offered by the fake plants, orchid and coconut cave makes him a bit more secure.  Right now he looks just like the older one, just with a tail!  it's so cool.  If it keeps going this way, I'll have to use the 75 for a colony of these guys!

Hubby seems to be ok with the frog tank so far, since it hasn't cost a dime yet!  And he said he wouldn' mind if I brought home "adoption" frogs from work.  yippy!  I need to get going on these plants then, huh?  hmmmm, najas.......

Wow. I used two and it doesn't look like as much as you got out of that one. We'll see when I actually use it.

Good idea on the tank! I don't think taking out the Eco-Earth would take too much time but that being said I have not done anything to my tank yet so I can't talk...LOL  if you use the tank the only problem I see is that the sides will be a bit steep so you'll have to be sure to make it easy for the frogs to get out(a piece of wood going into the water for example). I don't see it being a problem with these guys as they could probably jump directly from the water onto the land but for ease of mind it would be smart. OT but I've seen bullfrogs in my pond jump from the water with at most some aquatic plants under them and go 3-4 feet into the air to get ontop of the waterfall(no, it wasn't on, and it doesn't produce much more than a trickle).

I sure wish my folks wouldn't mind me adopting critters! The only ones I can get away with are bugs. LOL

I will be out of town for this week. That is partly a good thing as that means the plants can root in piece without me being tempted to look at them(the Syngonium has some roots already though Yippee!)

Yeah, now you've got a whole week to cook something up! Big...like 75 gallon big. ;)

I'm betting I have extra of the Syngonium pretty soon. They do occur in Florida but as an invasive species.

k, re-did the carpenter frog habitat (soon there will be 4 of them!  good thing they're tiny!  I'm going to be overrun!!!!) so I've places their old 2.5 glass tank in the 75 as the water feature.  I'm going to put a couple of pieces of driftwood and some water plants (just floaters) in there so the froggies will have no troubles climbing out of the water, and it will allow them to kind of sit half in and half out of the water.  I'm looking for one larger piece of driftwood to be a sort of center piece to this thing, then I can put potted plants behind and around it and cover all of that in moss.  It'll look sort of swampy then I think.  Pics when I get some darned batteries.  Used the digi cameras batteries up on Jeff Corwin 'cause I am a dork.  I'm hoping to steal some driftwood from my dad, who sort of just collects the stuff.  hmmmm, lots to do!

Wow...you sure are lucky, your livestock is free! Can't wait for the photos! You could use cork tubes for plant pots if you want something more natural. Chances are you won't really need to pot the plants. Hope you find a cool piece of wood for it.

Photos of me plants are coming soon.

What are the cork pots?  You've got my interest, yet again!
yeah, got another 2 tadpoles going now too.  Just getting leg buds.  :)
I've got a few house plants I was going to use for now, until I get some cash.  Good news is, my new lighting for my salt tank comes on Thursday, so I'll have a good light to put on this tank for the plants.  Then I can really get things moving.

Guitarchiq: Do a google on "cork tubes". Those might work. I doubt pots will be much of an issue as the plants will probably climb out of them anyway.

Yesterday picked up some orchid bark to mix into the substrate to improve drainage.
