This is "Bubbles," the Soapdish (or Thai Devil) Crab.  He recently returned home from a month-long "adventure" exploring the apartment.  ::)  Bubbles is single and lives alone in a SECURE ten gallon tank.  ;)

This little lady is no longer with us  :'( . It was a good 3 years though.

Dwarf shrimp I never got a positive ID on. They ended up turning blue and transitioning from blue to green every so often. Not bad for .79 a piece.  ;D

Cherry in the hizzouse!

Cherax Papaunus! nice one! I want to eventually get that guy. how is his temperment? I hear they get 8 in? What sort of "friends" can he have.

anyway, time for my giant atya gabonensis! They live with some cherries and I found two of my juvinile palaemonetes in there along with various "free" snails and many cyclops. Whee! One of the vampire shirmps is large and darker. They ligher colour guy hides a lot more and just recently molted. They are hanging out my the caves rather than the filter this day.

Last one is a really weird pic of a juvinile ghost shrimp. It looks like there is a hydra on his back, but it is really in the back of the tank. This pic is how I discovered a hydra in teh shrimp house.

I believe the cherax is very aggressive and even fights with his own species. Crayfish in general will eat any sleeping fish they can grab, tear up your plants, and will try to crawl out. They are not for a community tank.

Ditto. The one pictures was kept in my Malawi tank (as a favor to my sister since it was her evil creature) and it killed several of my fish. The one fish who lived through an attack was left disfigured.
Not fish, conspecific or plant friendly. It is very territorial with its own kind but shouldn't cause too much damage with enough space and like-sized individuals.
Very pretty, not very nice. lol
