Yes, I've fasted him for 5 days, until this morning-I gave him a pellet just to see whether he would eat, PERIOD, and he scarfed that down. I just really need to know if there is a medicated food to try, or a pea alternative. I cleaned his tank last night with a water change, and it didn't do anything in the way of helping things along. Anyhow...Thanks. :-\

So, you starved him for 5 days, offered him a pea and he refused? Hmm...If you've tried that, I would go ahead with the epsom salts (http://groups.msn.com/TheBettaObsession/illnessandcurepart3.msnw).  If that doesn't help, read my last post (I edited it) and go for the medicated food.

BTW...forgive me if it has already been answered, but how much and what do you feed him?

ed:  I've heard of using the pellets soaked in cod liver oil as a method of relieving constipation in fish.

Have you decided whether or not your going to continue using the undergravel filter, or a different kind of filter? Or are you going to go un-filtered?
