eye problem
« on: November 22, 2005, 08:00:39 PM »
Ok, quick question. I was gone from my babies for 3ish weeks and just got back today. Of course I run to the tank and am looking all the girls over and their all like "Mommy mommy we missed you!" when I spot blush. She looks like she has cateracts. Her eyes are all foggy. Their both foggy, not just one. Anyone seen that before? They were perfectly clear when I left. The tank 'looks' clean. I'm goona clean it friday (would do it sooner but don't have time since it's close to Thanksgiving). I do know that it was cleaned at the half way point while I was gone so . . . I don't know. Any ideas to what this is?

Should be a problem of cloudy eye or popeye.  Clean, pristine water and salt should do the thing.  If it gets worst, bust out the Maracyn & Maracyn 2

It doesn't look like the pics from Mushi's article but I'll pull her out tonight and put her in the 2g bowl with some salt. We'll give that a try and see what happens.

It sounds like cloudy eye.  What are you feeding them?  Cloudy eye can be caused by poor nutrition.  I'd give them all a little salt and start feeding them some frozen food along with pellets.

One of my Imbellis got Cloud eye. I treated with tetracycline for 5 days and it cleared right up. :) I think Maracyn I and II will work too.
