Topic: Tupperware containers instead of 10 gallon tanks?

In another thread in spawning and fry care, mrsdoubtfire showed us her grow-out "tanks", 10-5 gallon huge tupperware containers (like ones you put clothes or other things in).

My question is, are these safe for spawning as well as qrow-out tanks? Will they safely accomodate a filter and most importantly, heater? I want to start spawning my bettas soon, but 10 gallon tanks around here are uber expensive, and I just can't afford to buy 2 more 10 gallons. I can get these tupperware bins very cheap and I think they'd make a great substitute.

Any opinions anyone?

i think it would be fine.  after all, if those tupperware containers melted at 82 degrees, you'd never be able to take them outside in the summer  since you're likely using a sponge filter anyway if you want them to breed in, i don't think that should be an issue.

Yes and yes, a breeder I know keeps almost all his fish in sterilite containers works perfectly.

You know Super, as soon as you said that I slapped myself. Of course they'd have to be able to take p to 82 degrees. I mean, we stick 'em in the microwave no problem, right? *can you tell how tired I am? *

I'll talk it over with my man () and hopefully I can start up a spawn withing a few weeks. I 'll have toget some equipment and whatnot, but that won't be a problem.

So which do you think I should spawn first - copper, copper/red to copper, or black orchid to coppe (in hopes of black coppers)? They'll all be CT's
