Hi everyone, how do you sanitize your equip.?? Nets, decorations, gravel vac? I've recently had a fish death to something unknown and would like to sanitize my things before doing anything else in the tanks.

with the nets, i'd soak them either in hot water and vinegar, or in a little bit of bleach and some hot water. i'm not too sure about the decorations, or gravel vac, but that's always worked for me with the nets

I don't have vinegar , and am scared to use bleach. Do you think dipping in boiling water would work as well?

I'd say soak anything that'll tolerate the heat in boiling water for several minutes

I usually rinse gravel in a collander with hot water, then rinse the inside and bottom of the bowl with it as well.

I've also heard of people adding salt to the water "bath" & others leaving their equipment (usually nets) in water that has melafix added to it.
I personally just use the scalding hot water method.

Ever notice in the Bible, whenever God needed to punish someone, make an example or needed a killing, he sent an angel? Ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? An existence spent praising your God, but always with 1 wing dipped in blood. Would you really want to see an angel?

the vac may not tolerate the heat either, maybe mix up an extra strong batch of antibacterial meds in a bucket and rinse the vac in that?
