Topic: Split tail betta?

Are these new or have they been around for awhile? I have only seen them once at a petstore here.

I also saw a very bright pretty green one for the first time.(it was a female) Well I put off on getting it and have not seen one since. I am wondering if the green ones have a specific name they are called?

doubletails have been around for a long time.  i only have one though, for whatever reason:

Very pretty fish. Now I know mine has been picked on though as his tail does not look like that. It looks mangled but I thought that was probably how it was suppose to look. I bought him sick and knew it though so I can't complain. Now I am thinking that he was just getting beat up on in the store cause he was in with another male.
