I was reading over these posts...  Snoop has come out of his shell and is now a typical BC cross.  He's highly active and demanding, demanding that darned ball be thrown again, again, again!  And "Play with me, play with me, play with me!!!!!".  He's a sweet, sensitive boy who still loves the mailman and the creep who was looking over our fence the other day.  He's learned to wait for my alarm to go off before he jumps into bed for his morning snuggle, he loves to sit and lay on you...  he just can't get close enough to you.  Lets see if I can get a picture to upload...............

Age was a factor too.

Wow...  around here rescues charge by age, not breed.  Puppies are usually more... adults are discounted.  Snoop cost us $230 and he was neutered, had a dew claw removed, vet check, microchipped and all of his shots.

Yep he sure was.  The entire litter and the parents were turned in to a local shelter.  Then they made it over to Maryland Bichon Frise Rescue.  They said he was a full bichon and charged the hell...o outta me cause of it.  As a matter of fact when I told the woman who fostered him that Zoes former owner wanted $350 for her she told me that was a ridiculous amount to pay for pup that wasn't full breed.

So then I get a copy of the original paperwork from the original shelter so that I can give it to my vet, and the original owners - the people who bred the litter - listed them as PooChons aka poodle/bichon mixes.  Really upset me off and I got into a huge email fight with about 7 people from the rescue.  I told them to give me half my money back since he was only half bichon.  I am so angry with them but it seems I was screwed and not much I can do about it.

Yeah there are advantages to the little guys.  Like they can run around the house and tire themselves out.  No counter surfing as you stated.  The biggest advantage for me is being able to handle them as I get older.  Lugging around a sick 90 pound pooch is no fun when you've got aches and pains of your own.

But I do love me some big dogs and give my neighbors fat black lab mix big old people sized hugs to get my fix.
