No... I'm 100% his Mommy, we've had him since he was 7 weeks old.

Chase can have all of the credit!  That doesn't bother me at all... all I did was write it down.

With all true stories which make their mark and get recognition - I have a problem allotting the credit.  :13:

Should it go to the storyteller or is the real author the subject of the story ????

My Pets And Me / Chase might be in a museum display!

A while ago our local museum announced they were doing an exhibit called "From wolf to woof" about the domestication of dogs and asked for stories for 3 categories... The wall of fame, wall of shame and best buddies.  I just HAD to enter a story about Chase in the wall of shame category!  For anyone who doesn't know... Chase is a border collie cross who was seriously hyper as a puppy.  I couldn't teach him things fast enough and he took out his frustrations by chewing on things.  Most notably were the couch, rocking chair, carpet on the stairs and lino in the kitchen... but his favorite thing to chew.......  the walls.  Yes, that's right... not a wall in the house was safe from this little monster.

So the story I entered was about the time my husband came home to find Chase, with his head stuck in a hole he had chewed in the wall that separated the porch and the closet.  His butt was in the porch but his head was in the closet!  We have no idea why he stuck his head in the hole but his big ears kept him from getting back out.

Anyway.. about a week ago I got a call from the museum that my story had made the short list!  They're using 10 stories for each category and the short list is 20 stories so I figure our odds of being picked are about 50/50.  If picked they will use my story and picture in the exhibit, they have the picture professionally mounted with the story that would be given to me at the end of the exhibit.  They're having a private after hours party at the museum for the winners and we get to be a part of a press package given to the local papers/tv to show case the exhibit.

I'm so excited!!!!!  Who woulda thought?  I sure didn't expect this... I can't wait to see if we win!  I'll find out for sure either way on May 24th.  Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!!

That's Max.  He passed away in January at the age of 11.  We never knew for sure what breed he was, probably something along the lines of a labradoodle mixed with terrier of some sort.  I miss him so much........
