Hi Lacey ! Welcome to Petfish  wave

How about going planted. Its easy and the fishes love it; some love the plants so much that they will munch on them.  Grin

Then you have so many choices that love to play among them.

Sparkling gouramis, they're fairly small(compared to most of the fish I currently keep they're teeny-weeny, lol) so you can have a number in a twenty.
Welcome! Once things are up and running, balances tend towards maintaining themselves so it's not that difficult once established, but yah, in the beginning it can be a bit intimidating. But it's not too difficult or there wouldn't be so many of us in the hobby.
Again, welcome, feel free to ask questions, we were all newbies once and most of us remember it.

Hey ya'll! I'm Lacey... 26 and live in the southeast. I'm an animal person. I have had all kinds of pets... currently I have a mare. I love to ride. I also have a boxer- he turned one in August. I keep a betta in my office...
...I am here because I've lost my fish to tragedy. Sadly, I belive it's my own fault. Due to my losses, I've learned that I need to keep on my toes with keeping fish. It's always been so easy to do... and I've never had problems. But, now I've learned through more research that there are so many things going on, and so many things that can easily go wrong.

SoOo... in an attempt to find a bright side... I'm thinking of a new start! Just trying to come up with a new family in my 20 gallon. If anyone has any good ideas, please let me know! I have no fish... and will be starting a new cycle very soon...
