Hey a couple of people have ... unlurked. (sounds better lol) Anyway ...

I have cut back on the hobby. I just have 2 55gs up & running & the other dozen or so larger & smaller tanks in storage. If I ever have to move I'd probably sell/give them away. good luck on that future move Slinky.

Platy, that is one lucky betta to have a whole 10g for himself snails not withstanding. Any pics of the lil guy? I'm tempted to get another betta but I find myself getting more & more once I do.  :P

Ever notice in the Bible, whenever God needed to punish someone, make an example or needed a killing, he sent an angel? Ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? An existence spent praising your God, but always with 1 wing dipped in blood. Would you really want to see an angel?

Seems to me like the slow down happened way before summer - it's been happening gradually for about a year now I think.

I hate moving too - so much so that when the lease ran out on the house we were renting years ago, we bought it rather than move!  We're still here too :P

It seems like everyone has cut back a bit. I hope to upgrade to a bigger tank in the future. Unfortunately however, now is not the time.

Haha good idea!

Shieldwolf, I'll take some pictures later on today and have them posted by tonight. Unfortunately all I have is my phone camera but it shouldn't be too bad.

Yeah I am hoping to buy a house closer to my job sometime this summer (approximately 45 minutes away), and if that goes through then I will hopefully be getting a 90 gallon tank for saltwater from my friend. A lot of "hopes," but if I don't move out until later and he gets rid of the tank earlier, then I always have my 55 gallon tank.  It currently has no fish, but I left it up and running and cycling for the past 6 months "just in case" I see something freshwater I impulsively want.  8)  Otherwise, I am hoping I move everything easily enough with some big buckets and plastic wrap --> how I helped my friend move her 35 gallon tank FIVE times in one year.
Life doesn't always come with a set of instructions. In fact, most of the time it just comes. Every morning, like clockwork. It's there when you open your eyes, and it's still there even if you don't.

No good fish goes anywhere without a porpoise.  :)

I can only imagine the frustration there haha!

I would like to upgrade from my 29 gallon to a 55 gallon one of these days. I like how I have my 29g set up right now, but it can only hold so much haha. A 55g would provide some possibilities haha.  :)

Well I have a problem.....I took some pictures of the tanks with my phone camera, but it is saying they are too big. I am technologically challenged for the most part haha, so anyone have any ideas?

I'm not the greatest on giving technological advice, but you can resize them yourself.

Upload them to your computer, and then, using a photo program (Picasa or Irfanview, for example), you can "resize" them yourself, reducing the resolution.  Be sure to save the new photo under a different file name, or you will overwrite the original.

I'm sure someone else will chime in on how EXACTLY to do that..... it takes me a few tries to remember how to do that!

Hmm, I'm going to try to figure that out haha.

You can resize with GIMP or MS Paint, too. Kind of a pain though.
I've successfully moved a full grown oscar long distance before(about1200 miles) and I've even learned a few more tricks in the meantime, but it's not something I would look forward to. I would definitely downsize, Clifford would be the only "for sure" going with fish. But I really like my green kisser, too.

RM mentioned a couple of good programs in Picassa & Irfanview. I use the latter & the best part is they both are free.
Yah Cholly I have done it with MS Pain & it is a pain as you say. *blech*
