Suspension
« on: March 21, 2010, 06:47:57 PM »
I hate being suspended from school, all because some kid had to get in my face and mad me off. So i was sitting at lunch last thursday and this kid comes up to me and keeps asking me why i did something and i wouldnt tell him so he starts getting in my face and im starting to get ticked off so i stand up and pushed him away(i guessed i pushed him hard because he fell backwards on to the floor, which im not suprised cause i am on the larger side[6 feet 2 inches, 285 pounds]) but he gets back up and starts swinging, which im not just going to let him hit on me like that so i start fighting back and then i get him on the floor and im hitting him and another kid comes and gets between us and then the teachers show up after like minutes(some lunch supervisors, take 5 minutes to get to a fight :) ) then i go to the office and i sit in the one persons office(dont know her official title) and she comes in outraged and starts yelling at me wondering why i did and so i tell her and then she does her usual talk on why its not right and then she starts writing out the referral and she ends up giving me 4 days of out-of-school suspension. which i really dont see a point in Out-of-school suspension. Wow, 4 days to sit at home and do whatever i want, thanks.  Anybody else got Suspension stories from school or when you used to be in school?? if so please tell

Never got suspended when I was in school. Got into a couple of fights, but "zero tolerance" wasn't in effect back then. If you were defending yourself, you got off. It was a different world, 30 to 40 years ago.

Never been suspended but I've seen plenty of people suspended for stupid reasons, and for pretty much the same thing.

Yeah I had a close call. I would have gotten take to the magistrate but thanks to the Assistant Principal at the time I got off ok. They called is a scuffle and not a fight as if it was a fight the cops were called. I was attacked by some crazy kid. He kept throwing his notebook at me thought he was funny and I finally got mad and threw it back and he claims it hit him in the private area bunch of bull unless he has boobs.  So he flips out and starts just punching me over and over and there was zero tolerance then and I stood there for a bit but the dumb teacher, this was during study hall in a small classroom with an office attached for the teacher as it was the music room, would not get up and do anything she was a lazy old bat that did not like me at all. I finally got sick of it and grabbed him by the throat and punched the jerk. As soon as I threw one punch she came running out of her office to get me in trouble mind this was right in front of an open door.  She should have been out sooner before I had to fight the jerk off. So I told the story to the Assistant Principal. He did me a favor and called it a scuffle and then he told me he knew I was not at fault and was just defending myself as the guy that went nuts was alot larger then me. Unfortunatly there was zero tolerance at the time and he could not just let me off. so I had to do 2 hours of community service for the school. Thing is the janitor was supposed to come and get me out of study hall and well he never did. I still have never served the community service hours and that was from senior year in high school 5 years ago. I think they wrote that I did it and let it slide since it was self defense. I had never been in trouble before so I think that really helped my case.  I said to him what am I supposed to do get in the fetal position? He said actually that is what they are supposed to officially tell us to do in that situation. Yeah right and get my teeth kicked out of my face? I don't think so. Here is what I plan to tell my kids when I have them someday. If you have to defend yourself then do it but don't start fights or you are going to be in deep poo with me.  Don't get in the fetal position put your fists up and aim for his eyes and his nose. If you get in the fetal position you will have more damage done to you then if you stood up and fought back. It is better to fight and lose then to have never fought back at all and let someone steamroll you.
