Mine layed eggs. At least one egg that I can see in the mops. I just got them recently. I can't wait to raise them.

Incubation is around 10-15 days.  Get your brine shrimp hatcher ready, gardneri fry are greedy pigs!

I don't have a brine shrimp hatcher. I usually just raise them with green water and crushed flake food dust. At least when I kept Fp. Gardneri Clauseni Akure that is what I did. I have no idea about the Misaje ones though. The Akures layed eggs in the gravel and these ones are laying them in spawning mops. Liquafry seems to work good too. I think I may try them out on my method for raising akures. I plan to add hard boiled egg yolk to their diet as well. It is high in protein and works very well. Heck my adult fish love to eat hard boiled egg yolk.  I may make a trip down to Oddball Pets in Pittsburgh, PA and get some microworms and vinegar eels to raise my fish on. Oddball pets has all sort of live food cultures for sale to raise fry. I kind of wish I had kept the microworm culture I had going. More than likely I am going to have to rehome these killifish when they start to color up. First I have to get them hatched and raise them to becoming little fish instead of little worm looking fish.

Alright I will keep you in mind.  I can't make any guarantees about the eggs hatching or the fry growing into adults. I will do my best to raise some.  I have a poor memory so I would just check on the message boards for when I go to rehome them because I may forget to let you know. I have tried to raise killifish before and I have only been successful with Fundlopanchax Gardneri Clauseni Akure and I have failed with 2 types of Aphyosemion Striatum. I have yet to have spawned my Aphyosemion Australe. It may be something to do with the large 20 gallon long tank and I am not really trying to breed them. I just got them for my display tank not for a breeding project. The Misaje are part of a breeding project I am starting. Just for fun really. I believe that temperature can cause different sex ratios. Colder for Akures resulted in less males and more female but I never got to test the reverse so I am testing it with Misaje and I am going to do it with first warmer temps and then colder temperatures. I plan to keep a log of the results of the spawning and what sex ratios result. I then plan to test it further by spawning them twice in warmer water and then twice in colder water. The idea behind this is to come up with a temperature that will allow them to spawn an equal amount of males and females that way I can always achieve getting the most pairs as I can and the least amount of unpaired fish as possible. I am doing it for my own interest in what will happen.
