I saw this fish recommended under tiny tanks for a 10 gal.  They are pretty fish and I'm considering them.  I have time, haven't even set up my empty 10 gal yet but want to get the fish research started.  I am wondering.....about how many to a 10 gal?  I'm planning on planting the tank first, are killifish good in planted tanks?  A link popped up when I did a quick search for info that went to eggs for these fish on ebay, has anyone tried this?  How success was it?  As a beginner with this fish, but not quite a beginner with aquariums. should I try it? water conditions best suited for them?  Thanks alot in advance!

There are quite a few fish in the killifish family so a specific species would make it easier to answer your question. For a fish like Fundulopanchax gardneri, you could keep 5 or 6 in a tank. However males are usually aggressive to each other so usually you will just want one male and 2 or 3 females. I wouldn't recommend starting with eggs for a beginner, I have had mixed results with eggs. The eggs I get myself I usually have no problem with. The eggs I have got from others some hatch and some don't. Check the index of this site for more information on various killi species.

thanks for the response.  after I posted this I realized that killifish aren't just killifish and there are lots of them, I'll narrow it to ones that I'm interested in then repost.  Thanks!
