My shipment came!
« on: November 18, 2009, 09:07:41 PM »
Hi,

Well my shipment came and I was in a big shock when I found not only the two breeding pair I ordered but a male butterfly HM. A note said that he was a gift and I was to take good care of him from the breeder. So now I have three Half Moons.....

I have him in the ten gallon breeding tank.

I will wait until each fish is in a 5 gallon heated tank and make sure I have all of the supplies before I breed them.

The female is AGGRESSIVE so I am a little worried about the male...lol

I might even wait til spring to breed them. I am not in a rush.

I did buy a 30 gallon tank for $50 on kijiji and they will drop it off to my house tomorrow....

They are gorgeous and I am very happy with them, the breeder is going to help me breed them...through online of course.

I will post a youtube video of them soon and post the link.

I'm really glad your gonna wait to breed. It's best to wait until all your ducks are in a row and other old saying as such.  ;-)

It's interesting but as much as I love bettas I've never had the desire to breed. :dunno:  Anyhow, good luck and if you're selling the babies let us know.

When I had guppies, they bred.  Even if you get all males or all females, as long as you have more than one, at least one will acquire the ability to take on the breeding requirements that are missing.  Very interesting.

But I like each betta for itself - just like my cats!

Same here, lol.  No babies for me.  I just don't have the room or the money do deal with it and knowing me I'd be too picky about who the babies went to.

I will probably wait til spring to breed them. I really want to buy a aquarium  with clownfish  but I do not have the money nor the time for a saltwater aquarium. Maybe next year? lol

I am very excited to breed them. Today I put my female (Cherry Blossom) in her 5.5 gallon. The water is treated but since I added more I have to wait til it's room temp. Is is wrong to favor her above my males? lol
