He all I recently found a 90g fish tank on craigslist for 65 dollars so i bought one, iv had it setup for about a week now, and the test strips say that the water is good.... iswear one of these days i need to invest in a real tester...but 50 dollars for 120 tests i dunno if thats a good price or not but to me it just seemed expensive x.x  but anyway, i Got a little tiger oscar about 3-4 inches, really nice colorling on him/her, any way inside the tank I got 2 live plants I bought when I bought the fish, i know know they are mean to plants and dig them up and drag them but these are potted plants and i put some weights tied to them i dunno if that will be enough or not I hope so but hes little and for now he seems very peaceful and he just likes to swim through the plants and hide under them and i got a rock cave for him as well to play in. stock in the water are ghost shrimp from my other tank, i put them in the 90g because well iv had these shrimp for like 6 months in my 55g and they seem healthy than anystore bought ones. I have heard that ghost shrimp are a good lean source of meat for him, and Iv also heard not to feed him many feeder fish is that true? if it is its no big deal I bought hakari chilid pellets for him and its fun watching him come to the surface of the water and gulp them up.

Also Iv been t numerous websites and they all say different things, some say that he can eat peas to help with constipation some say not to feed him any and some say he eats fruits. and this is my last question I'm so sorry for this big post guys, I was wondering if anyone knows of any books on oscars or the chilid family. thank you all and ill post some pictures hopefully soon.

ohh also I got 1 silver tip shark from my 55g that i want to put in this 90g tank, iv heard catfish are ok with the chilid but somewhere i dunno if it was here or somewhere else but iv heard that someone had a catfish get his head inside the oscar and his sharp barbs went through the jaw of the oscar and the person had to cut the barbs of sharp fins off the cat fish x.x . once again thank you guys sry for the long boring post

IT sounds like you will be fine. Make sure that you read up on cycling the new tank as you will be having some water quality issues for the first few months. If you have a 90 gallon I would look into another Oscar of the same size to growout with the one you have, the silver shark would probably be fine but they are cooler with another oscar to interact with. Feeders are definitely not a good idea so avoid them. However live blackworms and frozen foods will be appreciated. Peas should be fine to feed your fish occasionally however it is a carnivore so it should only be now and then. I would avoid the fruit, he might eat it, I don't know, but I really doubt it is part of his natural diet.
There is a book specifically on oscars by Neil Pronek (I think) and I think (again) it is just called "Oscars". Check on aquabid.com or Ebay for it. I had one of my oscars try to swallow a spotted rapheal catfish and it got stuck but it eventually spit it out - it could have been a problem though. Larger Plecos are usually a safe bet. Remember these are big, messy fish, so keep up the partial water changes.
