I'm back for the millionth time! haha.

Welll...........I'm getting back into the aquarium hobby after 2 years. A new store opened up near me and I saw a picasso trigger fish! They are tight, so I might get it.

It'll be by itself since they eat everything. The way the lady described it to me sounded awsome. They are like puppies haha and beg you for food. I liked how the one I saw was acting, all hyper etc.

So yea, anything I should know about these buggers?

Hello.

Triggerfish need large tanks, in particular the Picasso should be kept in a 75 gallon tank minimum. They are also aggressive so choose tankmates very carefully. Triggerfish are messy eaters so good filtration is needed along with adequate water movement. Having plenty of rockwork with caves and overhangs will help it feel more comfortable with its surroundings. Most invertebrates will likely be eaten by the trigger and even small fish could become meals.

Good luck. Triggers are very unique and beautiful fish but have some special requirements that have to be met in order to thrive. Any more questions just ask.

Yea, I read about the 75gal minimum everywhere so that set me back a bit. I would probably just have the picasso in the tank by itself and not risk wasting money on other tank mates only to be eaten.

DO you think I could make a custom acrylic tank from plexi glass, or would the seals give away from the water pushing out. I would hate having 75 gallons on my floor haha.

I've never built a tank myself so I wouldn't be of much help with regards to that, however it can be done.

Yea haha, well I just learned that I cant have a 70gal in my room because it would probably fall through the floor with all the weight. I'll just have to wait to get the trigger fish.
