ok I got these 2 fish from my lps a few days back, since I gave them back the bala shark I got a refund for 20 dollars so I got these 2 cool lavender fish instead the only thing is they both got these black spots in the same spot its weird i thought It was a fungus but now that I see my other lavender has the same thing but not as dark I think its normal maybe one of you could take a look at it and try to figure it out??

So you don't even know what kind of fish you bought?   How will you know the proper care and right tankmates for them if you don't know what kind of fish you have?

Looks like it may be a blue gourami, and if so the spots are normal.

well i know its a gourami lavender fish, just didnt know if those sots were normal didnt notice the spots when i bought them. but than you i feel alot better now knowing it is normal that would explain how it shows on both sides of the fish and just not one side

Yes that is a blue gourami and you should be able to see vertical stripes on its body as well. It kinda looks faded in the picture and at first i thought it was a moonlight gourami but the spots absolutely confirms it is a blue gourami.

And...be careful that the tiger barbs may nip their fins though..

thanks alot, my tiger barbs are really nice, I havnt seen them bug other fish yet, they mostly chases each other every now and than one trys to pick on my black mollie but my black mollie will tell them to back off and they go hide lol
