Hi all I currently have 3 cat fish 2 pictus cat and 1 silver tipped shark catfish. I love the silvertip catfish he looks very shark like compared to other fish iv seen with the word shark attaced to their name lol bala shark??? thats a shark?? irradescent shark 0.0 yeh their fins like like sharks but as far as sharkyness goes This catfish won my heart hes so cool.

any way heres my question these guys are going to get big!!!! if i should ever need to remove them to do a complete waterchange how do i do it without hurting the fish or myself I know i cant net them i learned that the hard way the poor guy it made me feel so bad whenwe first got himfrom walmart brough him home me and my friend neted him to put him in the tank when i had the 10g thats how ong iv owned him for about 4 months now and sice hes in a 55g now hes getting bigger but i got him stuck in the net guz his fins were so sharp, luckly my friend was there and he was like -pulls out knife holds fish and cuts the net-

probably the best way is to use a large bucket or just your hands. Like you said, those fish are going to get super big. You might want to start looking for an even bigger tank.

Try guiding him into a plastic container used only for fish with the net. Another method is a tube, then covering both ends with your hands. Like nrich mentioned, you may be looking for another bigger tank for the bala. The pictus won't get quite as large, nor do they have "the need for speed" that balas do.
