Boney fish. And tank busters, they need very large aquariums, over 200 gallons for a mature specimen of the smallest species. Very cool fish, though. If you're serious about learning more about them, MonsterFishkeepers has a sub-forum dedicated entirely to them:

On our fish forums though, oddballs. Smiley We don't have a bony fish section.

They are quite big. I like seeing them in public aquariums where they can grow to their full potential.

^Agreed. Although I have seen some dandy privately owned specimens(and drooled over their owners' tanks!)
