I succumbed to the lure of those beautiful bettas! It has been probably 3 years since I had one, and finally got bit by a pretty crowntail at that big box....
I don't plan to do what I did several years ago, though... at one time, I think I had maybe 10 or 12 bettas, each in their own 2 gallon mini-hex ringing a kitchen countertop.
He sure is pretty, though.... red cambodian crowntail with iridescent blue at the base of the fins... I'll let him settle in, and see if I can get some pictures in a few days.

Looking at your av I never would have guessed you hadn't had 1 in 3 years. Sounds like pretty one. I have had only 1 cambodian male betta but alot of females. The females were always way too fiesty but I liked that lol.

Actually, looking at my avatar... my new one looks a LOT like Liberty, the one in the avatar!
My son just said..."What's dad going to say when he sees that one?"
Heck... he hasn't minded when I've bought fish for the big tanks... and I've spent a lot more on those lately than I did on that one betta...he was only $5.92 at Wal-mart.

Congrats on your new boy. Sometimes you need a break. I find that it isn't the bettas themselves that make you want more it's the forums and the people on them. For me, it's walking by the displays. A combination of "oooh, pretty" and "those containers suck". dg |

I never go over board with fish, rather keep less then get stressed but I am looking forward to pictures.

I haven't taken a new picture... he looks a BUNCH like my Liberty, in my avatar.. he has a bit of speckling/marbling in his body, though... Otherwise, he is identical to the first Liberty.
And.. I named him Liberty, too!
