I want some killie fish for a 10 gallon tank, but it is loaded with plants, do killie fish need salt in their water?

most don't need salt. There are a few that do better with salt but those are usually annual killifish. Get non-annual killifish or semi-annual killifish and they do not need salt.  Best of luck with your killifish.
