I have a small tank that will not fit the goldfish party favor that we received (yeah I know).  So for the time being I have the 2-1/2" comet in a large bowl.  I finally found a home for the goldfish, but I want to make sure that this is alright.  It is a very large pond (1/4 - 1/2 acre) that has other goldfish and carp in it.  The owner told me that he has been placing them in there the last year or two, I can't imagine that he bought them too large, but def. bigger than mind.  I am worried that the other fish would eat my fish?  There aren't too many fish in there right now.  There is also a small fountain in the middle and was worried about that too.  What do you think about this location?  If you don't like it any other suggestions.  I don't want to give it to a pet store because it just might end up as another party favor.

Your fish will have a wonderful life in the pond!

He is large enough to not get eaten by the larger goldfish, in fact there are almost certainly other goldfish babies in there for him to get friendly with.    He will not be bothered by the fountain and will probably enjoy swimming in the currents it creates.

I would get him there quickly, because the bowl will only do him harm.  Make sure you take time (at least an hour), acclimatising him to the water in the pond (have him in a container of bowl water, add a little pond water every few minutes, slow it down if he seems stressed), as the temperatures will surely differ by quite a lot.

You are absolutely doing the right thing by this fish - well done!
